What is included in a turnkey semi-recirculation fish farm?
A typical scope includes technology design, tanks or pools, mechanical and biological filtration, pumps, oxygen supply, automation, piping, installation, commissioning and launch support.
Technology between direct flow and RAS - we design and complete it according to your water source, type of fish and productivity. The share of water turnover and farm composition are calculated individually.
Pool workshop partially recirculating trussSemi-recirculation fish farm is a fish farm format designed for a specific site, water source, production capacity and target market. The pool layout, water treatment, oxygen system, automation and auxiliary zones are calculated together, not selected as unrelated equipment. A semi-recirculation system reduces water use compared with flow-through farming while remaining simpler than a full RAS when site conditions are suitable.
This is the “middle ground” between direct flow and classic RAS: part of the water passes through the purification unit and returns to the pools, and part is constantly updated with fresh recharge and goes to waste. The system is more controllable and stable than a direct flow system, but is usually simpler and cheaper to operate than a fully closed RAS.
A significant part of the water is returned to circulation - there is no need for an “ocean” of water, as for direct flow.
Oxygen, water clarity and nitrogen cycle are better managed than in a straight-through system.
The scheme is adapted for trout, sturgeon, catfish and other species - the configuration is selected by calculation.
Fluctuations in temperature and flow rate of the source affect the farm less than with direct flow.
Water treatment unit for partially recirculating trussRequirements for the water source, acceptable types of fish, system operation logic, equipment and implementation stages are described in detail in the “Technology” section.
More about the technology →The set of blocks depends on the type of fish, power and proportion of water turnover. A typical structure includes several functional units.
The list of equipment depends on the type of fish and the share of water turnover. Most often used:

"Aquafarmer" - 15 years in the industry and more than 50 launched farms, including partially revolving and adjacent farms.
Priozersk, KazakhstanComplex for raising trout fry
Chegem, Kabardino-BalkariaPartially revolving farm for Caspian salmon and trout

Clear answers to the questions that usually appear before a RAS fish farm project starts.
A typical scope includes technology design, tanks or pools, mechanical and biological filtration, pumps, oxygen supply, automation, piping, installation, commissioning and launch support.
Yes. Before design, the building is checked for area, height, floor loads, water supply, drainage, ventilation, power capacity and convenient equipment maintenance.
The first calculation needs the fish species, target capacity, growth stage, available site or building data, water analysis, climate conditions and investment range.
The turnover percentage, treatment composition and feeding requirements are considered individually: fish type, temperature, planned biomass, feeding regime, input water quality and discharge conditions.
You may not know the exact parameters - a general understanding is enough, we will clarify the details during a call.
Send data on water and the task - we will determine the optimal share of water circulation and calculate the technology, equipment composition and economics for your conditions.
Leave your contact - we will contact you and help you navigate the farm format, budget and next step.
